  • CoinSwitch is confident that by 2030, Litecoin price will have risen to $1,500, ensuring that it reclaims a long-held position as one of the top three largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
  • Coin Price Forecast is optimistic that Litecoin price will grow exponentially over the next decade and break above $5,644 by 2030.
  • Litecoin cryptocurrency launched in October 2011 and was first marketed as the digital silver to Bitcoin’s Gold. It was based on the Bitcoin blockchain protocol with slight differences, especially when it comes to hashing algorithm and block generation time, as well as transaction processing speed and cost. Throughout the last decade, the adoption and use of cryptocurrency have exploded.

The coin is now accepted as a payment method by thousands of merchants across the world. Originally designed to facilitate low-cost and relatively fast online transactions or money transfers, the Bitcoin fork is more commonly used as a speculative online investment tool today. Its popularity is further evidenced by the fact that it has maintained a position among the ten largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization for the longest time – second only to Bitcoin.

In the year to date (7th May 2021), Litecoin has recorded a 260%+ price jump, with more than 30% having been accumulated in the first week of May. Throughout the year, the 10th largest cryptocurrency has been enjoying a wild price momentum, leading to speculations about its future growth.

In this Litecoin price prediction guide, we address these by looking at the altcoin’s growth potential in the next 10 years.

Will Litecoin Reach $1000 by 2030?

For close to three years, Litecoin’s price has been trapped in bubble cycles with resistance levels as low as $150. In the last quarter of 2020, however, the Litecoin Foundation announced their intent to improve the privacy of transaction’s within the Litecoin network via the MimbleWimble protocol upgrade. Around the same time, the crypto market, led by Bitcoins, had gathered enough momentum to inspire a radical market run similar to the one witnessed in December 2017.

The two factors helped ignite the Litecoin bull run as its prices jumped from $55 on 1st November to $130 by 1st January. The ongoing bull market and continually ascending Bitcoin price have also ensured that Litecoin trades above $360 for the first time since December 2017.

Moving forward, crypto market analysts are convinced that Litecoin prices will reach $1,000 before 2030, with some expecting it to hit the coveted price level as early as this year.

Julio_LTC2021, a Litecoin advocate and investor, recently expressed his confidence in the Bitcoin fork’s promising future. He started by comparing the ongoing bull rally to the 2017 market run that saw Litecoin LTC set the current all-time high of $375.29. Julio concludes by stating that by the end of the current crypto price run, he expects the cryptocurrency to trade within the $2,400-$4,000 range.

Dan Gambardello, a crypto YouTuber, LTC investor, and founder of Crypto Venture Capital, is equally bullish about LTC’s future price action. He, too, compares the ongoing Litecoin LTC price run to the 2017 crypto market run. Like Julio, Dan is confident that Litecoin will record a tremendous price run that may push its price well beyond $1,000.

Coin Fan, another price prediction website that uses proprietary forecasting algorithms to predict the price of different currencies is evidently bullish on Litecoin future price performance. Their analysis suggests that Litecoin may reach $1,687 as early as December 2021.

Much of the bullishness around LTC price action can also, to a large extent, be attributed to the current fundamentals and investor confidence. It has also been given a boost by captivating comments from both celebrities and renowned investors like Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey, and Snoop Dogg.

Street Authority, the financial research and publishing arm of Investing Daily, is confident that more than 15% of all global financial transactions will involve one form of crypto or another by 2025. Their sentiments are shared by numerous other investing industry veterans like Elon Musk and Mark Cuban.

Such a phenomenon would create insatiable demand and subsequent adoption of cryptocurrencies like Litecoin that would help inspire a crypto price jump by the turn of the decade.

Using both technical and fundamental tools, analysts at Coin Price Forecast have concluded that Litecoin LTC’s value will grow continually and probably reach $6,254 by 2030.

Crypto Research Report Group, a finance research and news website, is confident that Litecoin will reach $1,200 in the next five years before doubling the price and trading well above $2,250 in the next ten years.

Other factors that these crypto analysts expect to have a significant impact on Litecoin price over the next decade include the 3rd and 4th halving events due in 2023 and 2027, respectively.

Will Litecoin reach $100,000 by 2030?

The wild price jumps reported by most cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin, run towards $65,000, have continually exceeded predictions by even the most optimistic crypto traders. It, therefore, wouldn’t be impossible for Litecoin to reach $10,000 and accumulate a market capitalization of $670 Billion (going by the current Total LTC coin supply).

Crypto experts are, however, confident that it will be highly improbable for the Litecoin to reach $10,000 in the next decade. Some of the stumbling blocks that they believe will hinder the altcoin from achieving the coveted price include injured client loyalty that stems from Charlie Lee’s liquidation of his LTC portfolio as well as the prolonged periods of poor management that resulted in the failure of Litepay.

Others believe that having positioned itself as a pure payment method and being far removed from upcoming crypto revolutions like the DeFi ecosystem limits its room for possible expansion. These critics also point out that Litecoin has already integrated key features like SegWit, Lightning Network, and, and that could have helped it ignite a radical price jump

Some have nevertheless expressed optimism about Charlie Lee’s return as the head of the Litecoin Foundation, the ongoing crypto rally, and the Bitcoin price unprecedented price jump. These argue that it now is only a matter of time before Litecoin moons.

PrimeXBT, for instance, is particularly confident of Litecoin’s future price performance and expects the altcoin to reach $10,000 by 2025 and $13,000 in 2030.
