The Best New Cryptocurrencies To Invest In 2022

Based on our research, these 10 new cryptos could be some of the best investments of 2022. But don’t just take our word for it — make sure you research them yourself to fully understand their pros and cons.

1. Polkadot (DOT)

Polkadot (DOT) has got crypto investors hyped up about its parachains right now, which should be ready for launch in late 2021. Essentially, parachains are parallel chains that operate alongside Polkadot’s main chain which can then be used to host other projects, and are perhaps the most important feature outlined in its whitepaper.

Back in October 2021 was announced that parachains will be auctioned off in 11 auctions batched in two. The first batch will take place in November and December 2021, while the second batch will take place from December 2021 and run into March 2022.

BeInCrypto noted that DOT’s price increased 17% upon the announcement of the news.

Would you invest in Polkadot (DOT)?

2. Kusama (KSM)

Kusama (KSM), often described as Polkadot’s ‘canary network’, has also performed exceptionally well after news that it will soon launch parachains, increasing up to 30% in August according to CryptoPotato

But Kusama doesn’t solely rely on its relationship with Polkadot. It has a separate ecosystem that’s drawn in smart contracts projects like Moonriver (MOVR) as told by U.Today.

This bludgeoning ecosystem also includes Karura Swap, the first DEX to be built on a Kusama parachain, reports CryptoBriefing.

How much would you invest in Kusama (KSM)?

3. Solana (SOL)

Solana (SOL) is constantly in the news these days as investors cannot get enough of it. So much so that Grayscale Investments, one of the biggest crypto investment firms, recently freed up some space in its Digital Large Cap Fund to include SOL at 1.06%, as reported by BeInCrypto.

Aside from this huge news, Solana continues to dominate the NFT space. Most recently, Solana NFTs became available on cryptocurrency exchange FTX US, where they can be minted and auctioned, according to CryptoSlate.

What do you think? Is Solana (SOL) a good investment?

4. Chiliz (CHZ)

Chiliz (CHZ) was up 1,600% in March 2021 according to Cointelegraph, which explained that it owes its rise to the large number of fan tokens it supports.

And some of the brands creating fan tokens on the Chiliz platform are big, very big. BeInCrypto reported how F1 teams, Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo launched fan tokens in May 2021.

Elsewhere, other sports organisations are joining in too. Most recently mixed martial arts league UFC also announced their intention to create a fan token on the Chiliz platform.

Is Chiliz (CHZ) a good investment?

5. Algorand (ALGO)

Algorand (ALGO) is a deal-making machine, securing a $100 million deal with The Drone Racing League in September 2021, as reported by BeInCrypto and leading SkyBridge Capital to raise $100 million to invest in an Algorand fund, according to CryptoSlate.

Algorand has also launched a virtual machine to increase its smart contract capabilities, says Cointelegraph, and created a $300 million fund to attract DeFi projects to build on its platform according to CryptoBriefing.

Could Algorand (ALGO) make you millions?

6. Aave (AAVE)

Aave (AAVE) is another crypto to have made it into Grayscales’ good graces, making up 10.25% of The Grayscale Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Fund, CryptoPotato explains.

Aave is also expanding rapidly onto other platforms, such as Avalanche (AVAX), according to CryptoSlate, where quickly afterwards the value of assets on the lending protocol increased by $1 billion in a few hours.

On top of it all, Aave is taking aim at institutions having launched private pools specifically for institutional investors who want to get into DeFi, explains CryptoBriefing.

How much could you make by investing in Aave (AAVE)?

buy Aave

7. Compound (COMP)

Compound (COMP), just like Aave, was included in Grayscales DeFi fund taking up 8.38% of the portfolio. And similarly, Compound is also trying to bring in institutional investors with its DeFi treasury which is only available for institutions, explains BeInCrypto.

Some caution is advised around Compound for the time being as they resolve a severe bug that caused a $90 million pay out of COMP tokens by accident, reports BeInCrypto. However, when this issue is resolved, Compound could return to form.

Will an investment in Compound (COMP) make you rich?

SHIBA INU (SHIB) is no longer a silly ‘memecoin’ you can just ignore. U.Today explains how Shiba Inu is now getting more mentions on Twitter than Dogecoin (DOGE), Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

And it’s not just Twitter mentions where SHIB is taking the lead. In October it was noted by Finbold that Shiba Inu’s 24-hour trading volume was two times higher than Dogecoins, despite its lower market cap.

Shiba Inu is also jumping on the NFT train. CryptoGlobe reports that SHIB has created an NFT collection called ‘Shiboshis’, which will be sold on the ShiboshiSwap website.

Is Shiba Inu (SHIB) a serious investment?

9. Polygon (MATIC)

Polygon (MATIC) is another crypto making waves with its NFTs and it has attracted big names to its platform. CryptoGlobe detailed Polygon’s debut NFT collection by Dolce Gabbana which sold for 1,885 ETH (approximately $7 million).

Elsewhere, Polygon is being used for more practical purposes, such as storing digital crypto stamps for Switzerland in the form of NFTs, as revealed by CryptoGlobe.

But maybe the biggest news comes from ZyCrypto who reports how Polygon has transcended Ethereum in terms of drawing in new active users.

Is Polygon (MATIC) the top investment of 2022?

10. Wownero (WOW)

Wownero (WOW) should be on the top of your list if you’re looking for a privacy coin... with a memecoin spin! At first, you may ask yourself why such an idea would be interesting?

Many of the top privacy coins have struggled to gain traction in the last few years. Zcash (ZEC), for instance, has done particularly poorly over 2021.

Memecoins get a lot of attention, as we explained with Shiba Inu above, which could give WOW an edge over privacy coins that have failed to garner a following.

Do you think Wownero (WOW) is a good investment?
